On November 7 200 guests enjoyed an a wonderful autumn buffet, homemade desserts, and musical entertainment by Roger Latzgo at the Brookside Country Club. The event’s main attraction was a silent auction of handmade bowls and other vessels created by local woodturners, potters and other artisans. In addition, guests were able to bid on items such as jewelry, gift certificates and themed baskets. This year's event included a live auction of a Martin birdhouse with copper roof handmade by Doug Johnson, a handcrafted steel and glass winerack table created by JP Huddleston of LSI Services, a cocktail party catered by Karen Hunter, and four seasonal flower arrangements by Ross Plants & Flowers. Olympus donated a state-of the-art camera for the evening's showcase which was won by Lois Haines.
The event raised $29,000 to fund over 4000 meals for the homebound seniors and adults with disabilities Meals on Wheels of Lehigh County serves.
Thank you to Bountiful Bowl committee chair Mary Anne Johnson and members Connie Archer, Kelly Blanar, Audrey Fronheiser, Sarah Garon, Brooke Griffiths, Pamela Koons-Hartnett, Pam Lackman, Sue McCann, Joy Buckley Reed, and Mary Pat Stark for all their hard work creating a wonderful event. The creative chefs at Brookside Country Club ensured that all guests’ appetites were satiated. The homemade desserts made by Commitee members were enjoyed by all.
