The 2015 Volunteer Appreciation Dinner proved to be a wonderful evening celebrating our Superhero volunteers! Our volunteers enjoyed a delicious dinner prepared by Cura Hospitality and served by Hospitality students at LCCC. Dessert were amazing cupcakes from Helen Kuper of the Cakesmith. Volunteers participated in a tricky tray raffle with lovely prizes.
Meals on Wheels volunteers received awards for 100, 200, 500, 1000, 1500, 2000 and 2500 hours of service. Andy Bednar, Cynthia Caddoo, Don Hoppes and Marty Wieszorek joined our wall of fame with 2500 hours of service.
One of our superhero volunteers was presented with a PA Dept. of Aging "Volunteer Spotlight Award." Virginia Crone, 89, has been volunteering since 1973. Acting Secretary of Aging, Teresa Osborne, presented Virginia with this award. Tom Muller, LC Executive, presented Virginia with a proclamation from Lehigh County and Ellen Kern, Chief of Staff of Senator Pat Browne's office, presented Virginia with proclamations from the PA Senate and House of Representatives.
