On June 4, more than 110 Meals on Wheels walkers joined walkers from 15 other nonprofit agencies for the Highmark Walk for a Healthy Community at DeSales University. Meals on Wheels walkers and sponsors raised $20,689, enough money to subsidize 4891 meals.
The cost of this 1-mile-fun and 5k walk is entirely underwritten by Highmark, so all the money raised by each participating agency stays with the agency to help meet its mission.
