“Every day that I deliver, I am sincerely thanked and hugged. Every day someone says: “If it wasn’t for you, I couldn’t stay in my home.” Some days I see someone who won’t see or talk to another human being until the Meals on Wheels volunteer comes. Why do I deliver meals? I know that I can make a difference.”

Drivers and Visitors
Delivery volunteers are the heart and soul of Meals on Wheels and touch lives with food and friendship.
Deliver a meal to homebound seniors and adults with disabilities in Lehigh County and brighten their days. Your smile may be the only one they see all day! Annually, our volunteers deliver about 200,000 meals, drive a total of more than 160,000 miles and donate over 34,000 hours.
Regularly Scheduled Volunteers
We need volunteers weekdays, from approximately 11:00 am - 1:00 pm You may volunteer once a week, once a month, or whenever your schedule permits. Delivery teams, consisting of a driver and visitor, deliver meals to between 8 and 16 people on each route. Our main pickup location is at Trinity Baptist Church, at 680 South. Hillview Rd., Allentown (near Dorney Park). We also have a pickup site in Slatington at the American Legion, 510 Main St.
We provide orientation and training at convenient times as well as allowing you to ride along with an experienced team to see how it’s done. Drivers must have a valid driver’s license and automobile insurance. You will also use your own car and gas to deliver meals.
Substitutes
This is an ideal volunteer opportunity for people who are unable to volunteer on a regular basis. Substitute drivers and visitors are needed to fill in on routes that are open due to volunteer cancellations. There’s no need to commit to a specific day; your name will be added to our substitute call list, and you will be contacted on an as-needed basis to see if you are available to substitute.
Snow Squad
These volunteers are called upon when weather conditions turn wintry and substitutes are needed.
